Troye Sivan & Ariana Grande ‘Dance to This’ Official Twitter Emoji

Capitol Records approached us to create an official Twitter emoji for the release of Troye Sivan & Ariana Grande’s single, Dance to This. We designed the emoji based on an iconic still from the music video.

THE EMOJI

Capitol wanted a detailed version of the emoji to be used in any promotional material – so that’s what we started with. The detailed version emphasizes the iconic colors from the video and Ariana’s signature ponytail. As with all emojis, we used vectors to design so that it can be scaled if necessary.

SIMPLIFIED VERSION

In order for the emoji to read well on Twitter (in a very small scale) we needed to simplify the artwork. Only the necessary details were kept in this version – and many features, such as Ariana’s clip and earrings, and Troye’s buttons and lips, were enlarged to increase visibility at a small scale.
